Frikadelli Racing is Aiming for the Podium in this Year's Last But One VLN Race

06.10.2016

 • Team principal Klaus Abbelen: “We have tested a lot and found some very promising improvements”
• Frank Kräling, Marc Gindorf and Christopher Brück are tackling their fifth win from six starts in division SP7
• Can Janine Hill, John Shoffner and Arno Klasen in the CUP2-Porsche end their streak of bad luck?
• Thomas Leyherr and Herbert von Danwitz trying to continue their positive trend in the BMW M235i Cup

The season ain’t over yet: After intensive testing with the “meatball” Porsche 911 GT3 R, Frikadelli Racing is tackling the ninth of ten VLN legs with refreshed optimism. Last week, Sabine Schmitz and Klaus Abbelen have been working on the car’s setup at the Nürburgring’s Grand Prix circuit as well as the Nordschleife. They are now looking forward to the last but one race of this year’s Endurance championship Nürburgring.

“We are convinced that we have found a few good improvements. I Think, we can do quite a lot with these modifications”, says Frikadelli driver and team owner Klaus Abbelen. “We don’t intend to finish the season without having visited the podium once again. This aim might even influence our driver line-up this weekend.”

Next Saturday Frikadelli Racing will again be entering four racing cars. The successful Porsche 911 GT3 MR of Frank Kräling (Winterberg), Marc Gindorf (MC) and Christopher Brück (Köln) has already won the division SP7 four times in five races. “This trio’s performance is superb this season”, says a beaming Klaus Abbelen. “Frank, Marc and Christoph are driving constantly quick and clever. They keep avoiding any turmoil and bring the car home without a scratch. A real good driver line-up!”

Janine Hill, John Shoffner (both USA) and Arno Klasen (Karlshausen) want to follow up their successful start into the season when they took four class podiums in a row. The next races however saw three retirements – a streak of bad luck that the trio wants to stop. Definitely in an uptrend are Thomas Leyherr (Dillingen) and Herbert von Danwitz (Tönisvorst): After their ninth place in the competitive BMW M235i Cup the duo is now aiming for another one-digit position in their class.
