"We drive for Sabine"

The Frikadelli Racing Team will contest the season opener for the Nürburgring endurance series next Saturday with all three vehicles as planned, despite the deepest sadness. On March 16, the soul of the team, Sabine Schmitz, had succumbed to cancer after a long and brave battle.

Under the motto: "We drive for Sabine" the two Porsche 911 GT3 R and the Porsche Cayman GT4 will compete in the "Green Hell". While Porsche factory driver Matt Campbell shares the Neunelfer with the starting number 30 together with Earl Bamber, Patrick Pilet and Maxime Martin alternate in the #31 sister vehicle. On the #962 Porsche Cayman GT4, Hendrik von Danwitz and "Jules" reach into the steering wheel as usual.

"Of course, we are all still fully with Sabine in our thoughts. But she absolutely would not have wanted us to stay away from the Nürburgring at the weekend. That's why I decided to carry out to start," explains team leader Klaus Abbelen.
