A conciliatory end to the season for Frikadelli Racing in the Prototype Cup Germany

Klaus Abbelen and Felipe Laser achieved another top five result in Sunday's race at the season finale of the Prototype Cup Germany at the Sachsenring. The Frikadelli Racing team also secured victory on the day in the Trophy classification with the #30 Ligier JS P320.
‘The weekend got off to a mixed start for us. Unfortunately, a circuit board broke in the first race, which meant that we no longer had any propulsion and had to park our LMP3 prematurely. The second race on Sunday was okay with the Trophy win and fifth place overall, although unfortunately we didn't get a perfect set-up,’ summarised team boss Klaus Abbelen.
Abbelen tackled Saturday's race on the 3.645-kilometre uphill and downhill circuit in Hohenstein-Ernstthal from eighth on the grid and was able to move up one place at the start. However, after just ten minutes of the race, the #30 Ligier JS P320 suffered electronic problems that were to seal its premature demise.
Things went much better for the driver duo on Sunday.
From fourth on the grid, Felipe Laser was able to move up to third place immediately after the start of the race and put a lot of pressure on the second-placed driver. As the race progressed, the driver from Leipzig finally found a way past and handed the cockpit over to Abbelen in second place overall, who was able to secure victory in the Trophy classification despite a spin in the final phase of the race.
‘We are taking a lot of positives from this year's season in the Prototype Cup Germany.Whether the racing series will be considered for us again in 2025 is still open at the moment. We will closely monitor further developments over the winter and then make a decision.A key factor here is whether the series will be more popular again in the future in terms of participants,’ continued Abbelen.
