14.10.2024

The Frikadelli Racing team made a successful guest start in the Special Touring Car Trophy (STT) at the end of the season.Team boss Klaus Abbelen collected a few more test kilometres with the #33 Ferrari 296 GT3 over the weekend with a view to the coming season and finished second overall in both races.

‘I'm very satisfied with our performance in the STT races at the Nürburgring, especially as we were able to gain a few more insights this weekend. It was the last race for us this season. During the winter break, we will sit down together and decide what our plans are for 2025,’ said Team Principal Klaus Abbelen.

In the first qualifying session, Abbelen placed ‘Bella 2.0’ in third position overall and put the two leading cars under a lot of pressure in the early stages. After a spectacular three-way battle for the lead, he finally managed to take the lead during the first laps of the race. He successfully defended this until the mandatory pit stop. ‘Unfortunately, I was unable to hold on to a Mercedes-AMG GT3 after the driver changeover, but second place overall is still a good result,’ said a satisfied Abbelen afterwards.

He confirmed his strong performance once again on the following day.
Starting from second on the grid, he drove a flawless race and once again brought the #33 Ferrari 296 GT3 home in second place overall. It was a conciliatory end to the season for Frikadelli Racing.
