Season final for Frikadelli Racing in the Prototype Cup Germany
02.09.2024
Frikadelli Racing's last stop of the season in the Prototype Cup Germany is scheduled for 06-08 September 2024. At the Sachsenring, Klaus Abbelen and Felipe Laser want to achieve another conciliatory result in the high-quality LMP3 series with the #30 Ligier JS P320.
‘I am very satisfied with the way the season has gone so far and especially with our development in the Prototype Cup Germany. We were able to continuously improve with the entire team over the five race weekends, achieve several top five results and celebrate our first ever overall victory in the racing series. At the Sachsenring, we will give it our all once again and try to reach the podium once more,’ said Team Principal Klaus Abbelen.
The minor technical problems that Frikadelli Racing had to contend with in Sunday's race at the Nürburgring have been completely resolved and will not stand in the way of this endeavour. ‘We found the fault quickly and rectified it. That means we can fully attack again,’ confirmed Abbelen, who is in fifth place in the overall championship together with Laser ahead of the final showdown. He is also currently in third place in the Trophy classification.
The free practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, in which Frikadelli Racing will initially focus on setting up the #30 Ligier JS P320 in the best possible way for the 3.645-kilometre uphill and downhill circuit in Hohenstein-Ernstthal.
The track characteristics for the Sachsenring include maximum gradients of 12.8 per cent and inclines of up to ten per cent. It is therefore no coincidence that many drivers refer to the circuit as the ‘little Nordschleife’.
The first qualifying session will take place on Saturday morning (10:10-10:25) before the first race starts in the afternoon (15:15-16:10). On Sunday, another qualifying session (09:55-10:10) and the second race (15:15-16:10) await the participating teams.
