13.04.2021

After the season opener for the Nürburgring endurance series had to be canceled at the end of March during qualifying due to weather conditions, Frikadelli Racing's first outing under racing conditions in the 2021 season is now on the program for next Saturday. The team from Barweiler will field both Porsche 911 GT3 R and the Porsche Cayman GT4.

“Even if the first race of the season did not take place, we were able to collect valuable kilometers on the Nürburgring Nordschleife during Friday training. Our vehicles made a very good impression both here and during additional test drives over the past week. Now we have to confirm that during race conditions, ”explains team boss Klaus Abbelen.

The # 30 Porsche 911 GT3 R will be shared by Nick Tandy and Maxime Martin in the second round of the Nürburgring endurance series. In the # 31 Porsche 911 GT3 R, Porsche works driver Frédéric Makowiecki and Dennis Olsen grab in the steering wheel. The vehicle fleet is completed as usual by the # 962 Porsche Cayman GT4, with which "Jules" and Hendrik von Danwitz will compete in the strong CUP3 class.

The Frikadelli Racing Team will not be represented at the opening race of the Michelin Le Mans Cup, which will take place in Barcelona next weekend. “Due to a recent shoulder operation, it is unfortunately not yet possible for me to tackle the LMP3 project at this point in time. With our new Ligier JS P320, we will therefore only be present at the next events, ”Abbelen continues.
