With two Porsche 911 GT3 R and a strong driver-lineup into the new season

14.03.2019

The Frikadelli Racing Teams starts the season with two Porsche 911 GT3 R. One of the cars will be the model which was successful two times for the Team from Barweiler last year. The second car will be a 911 GT3 R of the newest generation. It is planned to do some races until the 24 hour race. Due to the new BoP the Team will leave the Nordschleife after the endurance event.

“Even though we're still very angry about the current situation, on which we made a detailed statement on earlier, we are focussing now on the nearing new season. We used the winter break to reinforce us in specific positions. I’m confident that we build a good base to be successful in the VLN and the 24 Hour Race. We can’t control the circumstances, that came to our class lately,” says crew chief Klaus Abbelen prudent.

Porsche worksdriver Sven Müller will drive the new Porsche 911 GT3 R with the number 31 at the VLN testing day. In the past he showed good results in Porsche Supercup and the Carrera Cup. In 2016 he achieved to win both series in one year.

In the second Porsche 911 GT3 R with the number 30, Alex Müller, Sabine Schmitz and Klaus Abbelen will build the driver-lineup for all the races. At some VLN-races and the 24 hour race on the Nürburgring they will be supported by a fourth driver. “In the last two season Alex proved, that he is not just fast, but also reliable. With his experience he will be very important for our season,” says Abbelen.

The VLN testing day on Saturday the 16th of March will be the final opportunity for the Frikadelli Racing Team to prepare for the first VLN-race which takes place one week later.
